Hey family, glad to hear it was a pretty chill week over there :)
This week was pretty sad, usually we have a lot at church, but for one reason or another, most of our investigators were unable to go to church and most lost their baptism dates for this month. We worked so hard this week too, so I guess that just goes to show that stuff happens sometimes even when you do your best.
Other than that, though, it was so wonderful. We are working especially hard with a partmember family. Nico (12) was baptised about 6 months ago, and last week we baptised his aunt Jessica (16) and we are working super hard with his mom Vanessa (28). We had FHE with them last night and made origami and ate pastel, which is sorta like doughnuts filled with dulce de leche. They are such an incredible family, the love she has for her kids is a huge example for me, I learn a ton more from people than I could have ever imagined.
I just spent a lot of time trying to upload photos, but I couldn't figure it out on this computer. Most of them are pretty trashy (the cpus), and i seem to have always bad luck. haha the cpu has a webcam though so I just took a random pic and am sending it :)
I am now up to 55 different types of alfajors in my collection. My comp is finishing the mish and has 120, and the highest weve heard of someone having is 175, so 180 is my goal. My goal is to find the best alfajor in Uruguay and bring a box home. If you guys can pick me up, Ill show you all the best ones.
My comp is way tight, a little about him is hes from Utah, he's crazy about the classic comic book stories like batman type stuff and draws super good and wants to make his own, and he was a screamer in a rock band before the mish. hahaha we are having a blast and working hard too.
Tell Kayli to be super careful, but have fun with her mormon prom. If this kid tries something I'll slit his throat and hang him upside down from a tree by his junk.
I wish I had a better memory and I wish I was writing stuff down better, but Im always so tired every night, but this week really was wonderful, I love having those super powerfully spiritual lessons that work like a battery for me and they make me want to run to the next lesson. Theres so much missionary work in this area its incredible. I love the mission and I love the blessings that come from obedience. Be obedient with exactness, and remember always to give thanks to God for every little thing. Be examples and always be willing to share EVERYthing you have. I've learned a lot about humility from people that trick us into eating their food by lying and saying they already ate or will later when in reality all they have they give. People that give and give and love knowing that noone will ever know the difference but God. THATS humility and integrity.
I love you all and Im so glad to hear especially from Melis! I can open attachments, so send me everything you can! haha
Work hard and have fun!

Hey family!
First, ya I got the box on Thursday! Way fast this time, just like 13 days after it was mailed! Weird! Nothing stolen either :) Thank you so much, the cars are gonna be fun to give away!
I heard this morning that there was another earthquake near Baja Cali. I looked it up right away to make sure it wasn't right under you guys, but fortunately it was completely the other side. Did you guys feel anything though? Dang, so many quakes these days! I hope we get something exciting here! haha
This week was my first week with Elder Brogan Johnson from Elkridge, Utah. He's a way good guy, a ton of fun, and a hard worker. We're working hard and enjoying his last change. On Friday, there was a ward baptism and we were asked to be witnesses and when we got there, an investigator had also gone to watch, and she was like ``I dont want to wait, I wanna be baptized now!`` So we had to sprint back to the house to grab my baptismal clothing and sprint back to the church and they waited for us. So...we had a baptism Friday, and then between the sessions of conference Sunday, we had another one. The first is a 16 yr old girl named Jessica and the second an upper 50`s grandma named Marjorie (she says she has no idea the origin of her name, and that her mom made it up original, I just laughed since its an old common gringo name haha) So, it was 2 miracles. We also have a number of others preparing for baptism now. It's going to be a really good month.
I'm glad to hear you had a slightly more peaceful week, but remember that peaceful times are times to prepare, not to relax. The world is ever changing, and you must be preparing for battle every moment you are not actively battling. If not, you'll be caught off guard physically and spiritually.
Conference was pretty tight, very centered on the family, especially youth and moms. Its always interesting how the Lord works with preparing the talks focal points. We got to watch all but priesthood in english so it was pretty nice. Its a lot of fun learning instead of teaching for a little but. Conference is like the super bowl for missionaries.
Congrats for track, Levi, thats pretty freakin awesome, especially since its something youve never done. Get good at running so you can help me get into shape again when I return.
Mom, send me some of your cool pics your taking. Always be sending me pics with every letter! I love pictures!!!!!!!!
Melissa and Jason!! I'm missing out on my nieces first years, send me letters, emails, pics, something PLEASE!!! Give her a big kiss and hug from me every day so she knows who I am when I get back!
Last month, we officially set a record in the mission as a zone! 2 years ago at this time the mission had about 40-50 baptisms per month and our zone had 42, it was INCREDIBLE! I'm so excited for Uruguay, wonderful things are happening here FAST. Another zone just outside Montevideo had almost the same which was incredible too. All the zones, the whole mission is growing so fast. I'm so grateful to be in this country at this time.
I know that this gospel is simply true. It's the only thing in the world that will never change. Truth is something that always was, is and will be, and we have it. The bible says so many times that the saints would always be few, but remember that out of all the saints, still fewer will make it through the fiery trials. Please be doing everything in your power to see that everyone you know is one of them. God doesn't intend to save just a few of His children, but thats our decision. God has a way of giving us what we want, and if we enjoy wickedness, thats where we'll end up. Do good, and lose yourselves in service of others. Remember also that God uses us as administering angels before he uses those in heaven, so be attentive to the whipers of the spirit and do everything you possibly can to gain the influence of the spirit with you at all times. Follow your instincts and gut feelings 100% of the time. They are messages.
I love you all so much, please send my love to my friends and the family, and the ward too I guess, even though I probably don't know many of them haha. If you can, try to get Bis. Slade as the High Councilman over RR haha

Hey! Thanks for the emails, sounds like every week is eventful at home haha A new trial every week, wow.
As for here, Saturday the baptisms were a BLAST! 2 of them fell threw because Nahuel (13) wasn't ready and Jessica (16) physically couldn't this week ·cough· so this next weekend we'll have a few more between conference sessions Saturday in a Stake baptism. It turns out we accomplished our goal in Salto of 42 baptisms, so President had the ZL's buy us ice cream today. That was fun. Also, one of the ZL's got bumped up to assistant.
Elder Enciso went to Montevideo Sunday night so I'm with Elder Lloyd until tomorrow morning. Then Elder Johnson from Utah will come. He's been ZL the last 4 changes, and this will be his last change and I get to kill him. I've become an assassin, killing every comp I've had since my trainer. But, that just means that I have some of the greatest leaders in the mission as comps and Im learning a TON! I'm way stoked for this next change because we have over 30 possibles for baptism, so it will be a great finish for E` Johnson.
This last week, we spent a lot of time with recent converts and investigators since it was Elder Encisos last week it was concentration on retention. I feel confident for most of them, they are all such incredible people. Yesterday we spent the afternoon with a convert named Dany whos the only active member in his family and is only 9 years old. He taught us to make kites and we flew them. It was a BLAST! During this time of the year, everyone is constantly flying kites and theres always hundreds of beautiful kites in the sky. The other day we had a kite fight where you have to cut the string of your opponents kite and the last remaining wins. Theres a bunch of kids that run the kites (go to collect them after theyre carried by the wind away) and I OWNED! I can't wait til I can make kites with you all and we're going to war it out! Dany taught me pretty good :)
This week is the Holy Week, so everyone is home all the time, so we're going to work way hard this week. Friday or Saturday night we have an FHE with a part-member family (Rosario the mom, and 2 kids Tere 14 and Nico 11 we baptized a few weeks ago, the rest of the family soon) and we're going to make the wonderful American BROWNIE! I'm so excited to have brownies haha. We're going to make a ton and bring them to investigators and sing them a song for Easter.
FOr General conference, we get to listen in English! It will be pretty wonderful.
Also, since we live in a 4person house right now, a good friend of mine Elder Cardenas from Peru is coming to the ward adjacent to ours!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited it's going to be way fun! He's training so a newbie will be here, too.
All-in-all it was a very incredible week and this next one will be great too. Pay VERY close attention in this General Conference, EVERY SESSION. I believe that we are going to hear some grand council. The world is changing right now more than at any other point in time, even 6 months ago.
How is the new health plan going in the US, in action already or will it be gradual over the next 10 yrs or something like that? I am kinda curious how that all turned out. A bunch of elders are always talking about it and it gets really heated, which is probably why its a rule that you cant talk politics. The solution to political war is to share the gospel, no more no less.
Anyways, I really do love this work very dearly and I hope that you are all working hard in school, work, and most of all with your callings. Always remember that if we are giving 100%, its still not enough, but thanks to the grace of God we are made perfect in Christ. Give it all, be obedient, and stop worrying about the little materialistic things. Just serve and be happy. What else is there? I know that President Monson is an inspired man, and after a testimony, a prophet is the most important thing we could have FAR above scriptures even or anything else. Listen to him. I was thinking recently about how many hundreds of thousands of people went to the central park to listen to the president of Uruguay talk, or how many millions or even billions tune in to listen to Obama speak, and how ridiculous it is that not EVERY human in the world is craving for every little word that the apostles speak. Listen to every talk attentively. That's my challenge for whoever reads my email for this week. Again, I love you all a ton and you are in my prayers, please continue praying for me, your prayers are being shown here in Salto, so many miracles are happening in Uruguay!!!!!!!
